Description: TrainBrain2Drive is a driving simulator-based solution addressing the need for a reliable, time- and cost-efficient tool for clinical assessment and training of cognitive and sensory-motor skills needed for driving using artificial intelligence. Driving relies on cognitive, sensory and motor functional abilities. When any of them is in decline or impaired, a medical evaluation is needed in order for drivers to be able to renew their driving license. However, there isn’t a uniform or standardized procedure on how such evaluation should look like or what methods and tools should be used when performing it. As a result, based on a report from the European Transport Safety Council, driver assessments vary from a self-assessment forms filled out and signed by the applicant, to a medical examination carried out by a General Practitioner or a medical examination carried out by a specialist doctor or center. TrainBrain2Drive aims to provide a one-stop solution for gathering and processing all important cognitive, sensory and motor abilities needed for a reliable and accurate stratification of aged and cognitively impaired patients as fit, unfit and conditionally fit to drive. It could also be used as an efficient training tool to regain and improve some weakened skills.
