Description: At BirgerMind, we build non-invasive Brain-Computer Interfaces enabling paralysed patients to communicate independently. BirgerMind project was established with the objective to help Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Motor Neurone Disease (MND) patients regain their ability to write, speak, and keep constant control of their life. We are developing both: a scalable hardware platform and a software service, which adopts to users’ brain signals for basic communication and for controlling dedicated computer applications. Our stand-alone technology allows fully paralysed patients to use an e-mail and chat client app for reading and writing messages, ALS- friendly browser with access to social networks and news, generate speech out of text, call for help, manage various applications on daily basis, etc. Our focus is on easy and fast set-up. Our close-knit team includes experienced hardware, software and CAD/CAM engineers, an ALS patient with full-body paralysis, who is our CPO and the end-user, a neurologist, ALS nurses, and finally finance analysts and strategists. Our common vision is to deliver easy-to-use non-invasive communication tool based purely on our state-of-the-art brain-computer interface technology to at least 5000 paralyzed patients around the globe by 2030 as a sustainable and stable solution for life.
